Born in Pickering, Ontario on August 1st, 1973, Kris Holden-Reid was attending Montreal's Concordia University when he was cast in the title role of the TV movie Young Ivanhoe. His inherent charisma as well as being a former member of the Canadian National Pentathlon Team, earning a silver medal in both the Pan American and Pan Pacific Pentathlon Championships, gave him the skills to play the 12th Century sword wielding hero. Soon after he was cast in several projects but decided to take a break from acting until a role in Going to Kansas City brought him back to the craft.
He studied at Uta Hagen's Master Class Scene Study, with Janine Manatis, at the Green Room Actor's Workshop, and the National Film Acting School. He has been working steadily since in such works as The Tudors, Underworld: Awakening, & Waking Up Wally: The Walter Gretzky Story.
